Personal Mobile Vault from 1800Message.com

A new piece of software I found today was "Pocket Mobile Vault" which is an online archive service for your photos, your text messages and your calls. In combination with the pocket recorder, you've got an online archive service for your *PHONE CALLS* as well!

This software comes direct to you from 1800message.com and is definately now going to be one of the first bits of software I install on my phone when I reset it!

Get your Cingular 8125 for $199

Most members of the HTC Wizard Web are HTC Wizard owners, but I know that many other readers are still in their decision making phase. Those readers may want to have a look at this deal from Amazon.

Amazon are offering the Cingular 8125 for $199. This is after a $150 rebate and you'll have to buy a $39 data plan. Yo

Build your own set of registry tweaks (Revisited)

I figured it was about time for a status update on this.

The concept is that HTCWizardWeb would maintain a central repository of registry tweaks for the HTCWizard and then users could select several and download a CAB file which would automatically import those settings into their registry.

Exchange Server offers?

Some days ago I wrote about the free Exchange Server offer from web2mail.com. That made me wonder: are there any other free or cheap services around that people have experience with?

"Live" traffic information for the Netherlands

In the Netherlands, semi-live snapshots of the congestion of the nation's highways are publicised by the Dutch cardrivers association ANWB. It's great to have this information on your Wizard while on the road. However, the site uses Javascript (which IE doesn't support), and is loaded with ads that drive up your data bill. Hence, I wrote myself a little gateway...

Gmail on your HTC Wizard

Most HTC Wizard owners are aware of the existence of the Gmail interface optimized for handheld devices at m.gmail.com, but you can also use Gmail straight from Pocket Outlook. That gives you true POP3 (incoming mail) and SMTP (outgoing mail) access from any place where you have a network.

Stream video from your HTC Wizard

Not only is a HTC Wizard capable of playing streaming media, it is also capable of streaming media itself. On Comvu.com, software called PocketCast is available for installation on several types of Pocket PC Phones, including your HTC Wizard.

BlackBerry Connect

So some may say that with a device like the HTC Wizard, that there is little or no need for a service like BlackBerry Connect. Just in case you were not aware, RIM has software called BlackBerry Connect that runs on non-BlackBerry devices, devices that run Windows Mobile, Palm or Symbian.

Anyway, the software exists and has been released in some European and Asian countries that RIM operates the BlackBerry service. Now that the NTP legal battle has been settled, there may be a chance that BlackBerry Connect for Windows Mobile makes it's way to the US and other countries.
