Linux on the HTC Wizard - The Linwizard Project

Due to the limited nature of Windows Mobile and reduced interoperability with non-Windows systems, on 2006 the Linwizard Project was opened. The aim of the project is to replace Windows Mobile with GNU/Linux and a beautiful GPE/OPIE Window Manager.

Well - it has finally happened! My Wizard has bitten the dust. I don't quite know how, but the screen cracked at the weekend and now I can't see anything on it at all! I was kinda looking to upgrade to an HTC Touch DUal but the bloody things aren't ut here on Tmob until January so until then I will be smartphoneless! Nothing else out there quite replaces it right now.

After researching, here and on other websites, magazines, etc., about which PDA Phone was best for my needs, I selected the HTC Wizard (T-mobile MDA). Several days later, of perusing Craigslist, Ebay, Letstalk, Amazon, etc., I was determined to forego my first objective of buying a cheap, used MDA as a replacement for my now out-of-contract T-mobile service. However, there aren't any cheap ones; just plenty of expensive (read: overpriced) used ones that people are dumping all over the internet.

they are working on replacing the dissappointing M$ bluetooth stack with Widcomm's impressive( I am listening to Christmas songs via A2DP now, without high pitch ringing on my Dopod 838 right now) bluetooth stack.

Well, it is working partially now(still has memory leaks somewhere), but just keep an eye on this thread at XDA developers.. they will make it work properly one day...

Ever since its launch on April 1st, the HTC Wizard Web has been running ads to cover the costs of hosting. Since the launch, the HTC Wizard Web has seen its community grow to 5000+ members and the number of daily visitors has grown to 3000+. As a result, the revenue from ads is now exceeding the hosting costs. Time to give back to the community!

I would like to thank HTC Europe for the help and excellent service.

I managed to drop my O2 xda Mini S which resulted in one of the top clips of the battery cover breaking off.

I contacted O2 who would not sell me a cover with out first having the whole phone sent to them to check out!

I contacted HTC via their website and my email was routed to HTC Europe (Which is based in the UK).

T-Mobile USA releases ROM update for MDA!

Beginning August 2, T-Mobile customers can download free upgrade software for the MDA from T-Mobile.com. This upgrade brings the latest and greatest T-Mobile MDA features to existing customers. The upgrade includes Microsoft's Messaging & Security Feature Pack for Windows Mobile 5.0(MSFP) plus additional feature upgrades that will improve the customer experience with the device.

I wanted to share you all who have broke their HTC WIZARD screen and the touchscreen.

This Company will fix your screen and touchscreen for around 180 dollars. Even HTC WIZARD(company) doesn't know about this service when I called in.

I didn't send it in though but went to the actual office to get it fixed because I live right next to it. Took 30 minutes!
