What does this ROM upgrade address?

I've had a problem with my MDA connection to my Linksys wireless WRT54GX4 router from Day 1. Countless hours with T-Mobile T/S as well as Linksys have been to no avail. All previous configurations have failed, so is this ROM upgrade going to be worth the aggrevation? I really like this device, but without WiFi and in a poor coverage area, it's kind of like a Swiss Army knife where only the the only reliable feature is the corkscrew. (no pun intended):-(

The wi-fi on my Vario never

The wi-fi on my Vario never worked. It regularly dropped calls. The voice quality was poor. The unit ran slow. It regularly rebooted itself. The Bluetooth range was non-existent. It kept setting off alarms that weren't set .... get the picture ?

Since applying this new ROM everything works and the email arrives on my Vario before it arrives in Outlook on my PC. The unit is much faster crisper and more responsive. My advice is get it on your Vario without delay.

I wish thet T-Mobile had released this before. It has transformed my opinion of them but I am very annoyed that I had to put up with the previous ROM which clearly was no better that beta software.

I truly feel your pain and am couriously glad that it's mutual. ;-) More importantly, however, I'm excited that a solution to this aweful mess may be on the horizon. I'm going to update mine now. Thanks.

Apparently the update utility from T-Mobile UK cannot be used on my phone. Is there a way around this bump in the road?
