Registry Wizard for your HTC Wizard updated

The excellent Registry Wizard by XDA Developer's nicodekker has been around for quite some time, and is still under active development. Nico released a new version yesterday, and I thought it was about time to get up to date with the version here on the HTC Wizard Web as well.

Registry Wizard is a nifty little program that lets you make several changes to the registry from a Graphic User Interface.

Registered members of the HTC Wizard Web will see two files attached to this article. You need to install the OpennetCF SDF before you install Registry Wizard. Just put it on you Memory Card and execute it. Make sure you install it into Main Memory, it will not work when you install on your Memory Card!

The last file is Registry Wizard itself. Install it by putting the file on your HTC Wizard and executing it. After you installed Registry Wizard, run the program and select the tweaks you want to apply. Registry Wizard will perform the required soft reset for you.

Several new options have been added to this last version of Registry Wizard. There are 28 tweaks now, problems with recognizing the HTC Wizard type have been solved, and Registry Wizard now detects if you are running an AKU2 ROM.

Hi Stanley,

I followed your instructions and when I ran Registry Wizard I got the following "An unexpected error has occurred in Registry Wizard.exe....". Selecting details I got a lot of information which appeared to relate to the OpenNETCF.SDF.wce4.armv4.cab.

After trying to reinstall that file again on to the storage card I then installed it on to the device itself. Each time it installs it reports that the previous install is uninstalled so presumably I do not have it loaded three times.

This appeared to fix the problem, so at least on my Wizard loading the cab on to the storage did not work.

This brings me to a supplementary issue - what is the lowest available memory beyond which we should not fall below? After running MemMaid immediately after a soft reset my memory now sits at 16.89 MB. Loading both registry Wizard cabs into main memory of course took up over 1 MB.

Thanks & regards.

You are right, I copied some text from a previous article into this new article, and did not include the part about NOT installing on Memory Card. Will fix. Thanks!

I am not sure about minimum available memory, someone else maybe?

I have loaded this wizard on to my K-JAM three times, and each time it "white screened" on me forcing a hard reset. The third time around I loaded it straight after the hard reset with nothing other than i-mate's customization loaded, ticked everything I wanted, whatched as it soft reset ... white screen again. I am dubious about the tweaks related to input selecting the keybopard layout and the default input as possibly being the culprits, as first time around I did not tick those items and it didn't white screen until until I had, but there were a couple of other adjustments I made so I cannot be positive.

I already had Tweaks2k2 anyway, and as far as I could see the only tweak that Registry Wizard had that 2k2 doesn't is related to the Edge Icon, which I have now done manually. I'm not planning, threfore, to try a fourth time - I loose too much sleep in the small hours from it!

Hi All !

First of all, thank you all for your contributions and help that help us take full advantage of this great machine !

After loading both files into the Main memory, I tried several times to install it but I still have the same Error message ("An unexpected error has occurred in Registry Wizard.exe...etc..").
Do you have any idea what might be the other possible causes of this Run failure ?

Thank you in advance !

K.

If you follow the provided steps you wont have any problem running this great tweaking app.

However it doesnt work on WM6 :)

May be because of the tweaking i already made. But it works perfect on WM5 :)

Great contribution.!!

An remember install the OpenNET on your main memory (device)
