A Love Story of NecklaceSubmitted by Edsion007 on Mon, 01/06/2009 - 03:50. Useful sites
This story took palce between a poor boy and a beautiful girl who was born into wealthy families with brilliant connections. For aught I know, Fate is responsible for their meeting. The poor boy was head over heels in love with the pretty girl . The girl was 18 years old and the boy was in his early 20s in those days . “I’d like to have one just like that” the girl said enviably when she saw those who wore beautiful platinum Tiffanys necklaces on one occasion . The poor boy silently took her words in his mind without saying a word . Because he knew himself was too penniless to afford this platinum Necklace . When they passed by that tiffany jewelery store , the girl would unconsciously catch sight of those gleaming platinum necklaces displayed in shopwindows . Since then , 3 years had passed by . The boy gave the girl a fancy necklace of weight as a gift on her 21st birthday . “How beautiful” their friends said admiringly . “It doesn't seem to be genuine , does it ?” when she saw the shining “diamond” on it . she said in a playful tone. “Well, it is a replica certainly . The genuine article is so expensive , I can not afford it .” the boy said awkwardly with a embarrassed smile on his face . The girl got married in the sequel . The boy took a work which was paid low . Her bridegroom is certainly a rich man instead of the poor boy . The girl was going to return the necklace to the boy when they broke up , “It is worthless to me” boy shook his head and said , He hoped that she could keep it as a souvenir . The girl agreed to keep it . The girl wore a lot of costly jewellery on her wedding , such as lustrous platinum Tiffany Rings and Tiffany Earrings and so on she just treasured up the boy’s necklace and locked it up in the drawer as a memorial to him . After all , he is the one who she love in word and deed . He was just so impecunious . One day , she showed her jewellery to her when a friend of her visited her “they all are no more than plated , they are penny-a-line ,”her friend said disapprovingly . Ultimately , she took out that “inferior” necklace she treasured up and said “How about this mode look like ?” She weighed the stone in his hand , “You are used to grudge genuine one , and to wear the gewgaw ,she said with a smile on her face . “That’s impossible ! You must be pulling my leg !” the girl said incredulously , but he told me that it is a replica . “You can take to jeweler to appraise it .” her friend said. “I don't think it's necessary, I would rather believe it was genuine .” She said . Before long , the company of her well-to-do husband got into trouble, and her husband was sent up the river for his malpractice by police . She brought the boy who presented her necklace to mind when she was badly cut up . Subsequently, the girl read a essay of which title is “The Necklace With Blood” in a old magazine. The author is right the boy . She understood everything had happened after she read it . In that essay, the boy had his eye on a Tiffany Necklace , which worthed 40000 RMB, he took an oath that he would buy this necklace for the girl who he loved so deeply . At that period , it is so arduous for the poor boy to save so much money . The boy saw that necklace eveyday even if he is exhausted and implored the shopkeeper that did not sell that necklace to others. He did lots of work no matter how hard they were . Because the girl was perfect to his mind .Only the perfect necklace could match her. However ,he still could not afford it after 2 years passed . He had no choice but to sell his blood on the third year , because her birthday was imminent. .It was too late to earn money or to borrow . The shopkeeper of that Jewelry Shop was moved eventually by the boy , and sold that necklace to him in a low price . The girl cried when she read here, her tears dropped onto the Tiffany Necklace . Afterward , the girl got the news that the boy had got married whose bride was right the daughter of that shopkeeper . From then on , the girl took a oath that she would never wear any necklaces . When her friends asked the reason , she said regrettably “To many thing, we don't cherish them until we lose them.” Edsion007's blog | login or register to post comments | delicious | digg | reddit | technorati | 126 reads
