just recieved my new HTC Wizard today love it with 1 problem. My first ActiveSync connection went flawlessly but when i went to update it will now only continuously try and connect, never actually connecting and i get a network connection error saying limited or no connection due to validation of ip address. im stumped. i must have inadvertently did something to change settings either on my notebook or the wizard.

any help?

thanks

Try opening active sync in pc and delete the partnership which you would have made previously. Then connect the device and see.

I currently have the same issue - the first sync happened but subsequently the MDA Vario will not sync. All I get on the pc is "Receiving Settings" which actually do not get received. The MDA only has a record of the first sync and no subsequent tries. It seems that communication from the pc works ok in that I can tranfered and install new programs. I started with Active Sync 4.1 and have also tried 4.2 and 4.5 beta all to no avail. Can anyone suggest a way forward please.

..........Try this: I'had problems with active sync. I' foun a way to fix the problem. On your MDA go to start, settings > conections > USB to PC. Uncheck "Enable advanced network fuctionality" That should fix the problem. Hope this helps :) !

I did your fix and it connected and started the sync, finally.
Now it comes up with an error ---------------------------
Microsoft ActiveSync
---------------------------
ActiveSync encountered a problem on the desktop.

Support Code:85010014
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Now what do I do?
Thanks,
