Has my 8125 crashed, or does it have a fried battery?

I recently had my Cingular 8125 freeze up to the point where I couldn't even do a soft reset, so I took out the battery. When I tried to boot it again, I got to the Cingular screen, it loaded the ROM data, but then the backlight shut off and the screen then slowly faded. However, the two led's on the top still blinked. One green and the other blue. The only ways I could get the screen to turn on again were by pressing the soft reset button or taking out the battery and turning it on again. I looked at another forum in which the user had a scenario similar to mine, but rather than taking out the battery, tried to charge it with another charger, which fried the battery. Is it possible that I fried the battery by merely taking it out, or has my Wizard crashed?

I was having trouble doing a hard reset, since it would seem to turn off after powering on, but apparently, I got the timing right this time. I formatted the system and now as I type, my wizard is restoring to its original settings. Is there any way to restore my previous data by syncing it with my computer?
