Hello! I just got a HTC 8125 Wizard yesterday. The battery died sometime last night. I plugged it into the charger this morning and since then the battery hasn't got up at all. I've tried charging it with the usb cord and that doesn't work either. The thing is that the phone say its charging and it beeps when I unplug it, it just doesn't actually charge! What can I do? It's unlocked also and I'm with Rogers in Canada.

Hi, I have the same problem. I bought my 8125 two days ago, and after charging with usb, it keeps the same battery level that had before charging. Is it a software problem ?

Yep, me too...

After I discharged the battery too much (phone doesn't turn on for more than a second). The amber charge LED doesn't come up when I plug it in, and it doesn't charge of course.

A friend of mine had that problem too, but after a week or so his phone worked just fine again.

I think it's because of an over sensitive charge regulator that's afraid of charging the battery in an unmeasurable state something.
These regulators are necessary to prevent lithium fires (nokia accident).

I've kept it on the charger for 2 days now and no result, yet.
I'll keep you posted

Okay, found the solution...

The battery can't be charged without software, the phone cannot run without a battery (voltage).

There are a lot of people with this problem and the most common solution is to cut a USB cable open to boost the battery before inserting it, THAT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!!!!
Lithium batteries are very unstable and do not like to be 'boosted'. The voltage of the Wizard's battery is 3.7V, that is not 5V USB!!!

My solution:

Put 2 wires between the battery and the phone's connector. One shorting pins 1+2 and the other shorting 5+6. I used a very common 3.3V DC adapter from my wifi AP, mine was 4 amps I think 1A is enough.
I connected the wires to the corresponding poles of the adapter plug (don't mix them up) and, what do you know, the phone boots up.
After that I connected the USB plug from my laptop (running of batteries to prevent strange current loops on the 230V side), removed the 3.3V adapter, pulled out the wires et voila

Before I tried, my battery was at 2.8V, I think the Wizard needs 3V to operate.

did you actually have the battery in the phone while the wires were hooked up to the + and - poles of the phone, or was the phone running only through the DC adapter

im stuck in bootloader mode with a pretty dead battery, and i cant get into the OS to charge it

im trying to find a way to power my phone just so i can flash another rom and get into the os, there currently isnt a functioning rom on my phone

any help would be appreciated

The 8125 needs to boot completely before it will allow a charge through the USB port. Catch-22, if there isn't enough juice to get you through the whole sequence, the batt just dies and you can't get the charge to flow. My personal solution when it happens: 1. If you can do without the phone for a few days, let the battery sit and equalize, this will usually provide enough of a charge to go through the complete boot sequence. But if it is too dead, or you cannot wait,2. pull the battery out, you will see the terminals on the battery marked + & - (the flat pads) there are two of each on them, you only need to use one set, it doesn't matter which or if it is intermixed. take a 9V battery, and connect a circuit from the 9V battery to the dead phone battery (running < 4 volts) and hold the positive to positive, and neg to negative for Max 2 minutes allowing the cell battery to take a "quick charge". After two minutes, take the battery back to the phone, and immediately boot it up with an usb plug installed to charge it. It will complete the boot sequence, and it will take the charge.

Hi, I bought the T-Mobile MDA US (HTC Wizard 200), yesterday I was using it removing some contacts and then my phone turned off without no reason, I connect the AC Charger to the phone during about a couple of hours and when I try to turn it on , it doesn't work, now I'm at the office and I connected the phone to my laptop with usb cable in order to see if it charges. I need some help about this trouble.

Thanks
