This is the 2nd 8125 to do this to me is 3 months. Just doesn't show any signs of life. Didn't drop it, get it wet, talk mean to it, nothing. Just turned itself off and died. Swapped batterys with the wifes and both batterys work and charge in her phone. Need advice. Something to try...Wont soft or hard reset.

I experienced something similiar but I dont think its the same issue.
I will briefly describe what happened to me in case it might help you or someone else.
My issue was that I was using a variety of ways to charge the wizard. (car charger, usb cable to the laptop and wife's razr charger). I was not using the wizards charger at all and it seemed to be ok.
The problem happened when I drained the battery completely to the point where it would not even boot up. At that point none of the chargers would light up the charging LED. Also, I think there is a flaw in the design where when the battery is totally out, it has to use the battery to do the 1st boot sequence, and after that external power is noticed and used. If the charge on the internal is so low that it does not get past the initial sequence then the wizard will not boot up. Also plugging the charger at that point will not buy you anything.
The wayaround it was to just give it time, plug in the origional charger, boot up and keep my fingers crossed.

any luck fixing your phone? I have the very same issue. What I do to start the phone is press the power button on top of the phone when the T-mobile screen appears. Then I keep pressing that button until windows starts. that has been my only advance on this. but if I stop pressing the button, the phone will turn off in about 1 min. I found this solution in this other forum, will try it tomorrow. it's not the same issue but maybe it works.

Got a solution. This happened to me. I was advised to do the following and it worked great.

Take a USB cable cut off one end and expose the red and black wire. Touch the black to the negative pole of the battery and the red to +, directly. I held it there for about three minutes. Put the battery back in the phone and now boot it up. When it starts up, IMMEDIATELY plug it into the USB PC cable or wall charger to charge completely.

Apparently, Li-ion batteries will not charge without a software solution to charge and this will not happen if the phone is not running.
