How to avoid getting reset everytime SIM card is changed

I am a frequent traveller. Every time I insert the SIM card of new provider my date and time and get reset to March 9, 2006. How do I avoid this?

How do I backup my data?

Will greatly appreciate if solutions are offered for both.

Thanks

Mine does this too except July 6 2006 Must be the initial inservice date of our devices. Everytime my battery is removed or is VERY LOW >30% it resets the clock and calendar. I dunnop the fix but I suspect there is some kind of internal battery like in a motherboard CMOS.

Hope we find a solution.

Joe

Whenever I take my battery out, my 8125 also reverts back to July 6, 2006. Very annoying. A fix for htis would be great, as I'm sure its happening to lots of people. Is your HTC cracked? Mine is, and I thought that might be the cause.

does it allow you to back up flash memory and registry?

i'm thinking of trying WM5torage to gain the option of the whole phone functioning like a flash drive to the usb port of any computer, which I understand is a use-with-caution application because it will show two flash drives, one for your storage card and one for your phone, which means if you aren't observant you could delete crucial system files. But anyway, then I could copy those files straight over to my pc or laptop.

my only concern is that I first need to unlock my device, which I've not done b4, and I don't want to brick it.

if spb will do all that I need that would give more peace of mind. anybody know about flash and reg backups?

also Total Commander is supposed to do reg backups but mine always gets locked up.
