Ok, here is the deal. And its always been like this so I dont know what the deal is.

When im at home, I dont get any kinda of service so I cant really use my phone. Unless I was to turn my WiFi on in the phone. I dont use the WiFi much so its always off cause I dont have places I go that has wifi except for home. But if I come home and turn the wifi on, it finds my network and works and everything... BUT.. it never uses it in IE. Like if i come home from work and turn on wifi in the phone. then open IE... it still acts like it cant find the net like its trying to use the GPRS. Sometimes I finally get it to work but i dont know what I do. I go through programs and menus looking aronud and what not but i dont do anything specific. its like it takes that long to refresh the phone to let IE know that it should be using the wifi right now. Does this happen to you? How do i make IE use wifi instead of trying to get on the net using gprs when there is no service available at home anyway? Sometimes it will work but hardly often and i dont know what i gotta do to get it working... HELP!!!

Im using the cingular 8125 as well!

I think this is related to the proxy settings, when i have this problem I just disable the proxy and the wifi works great...

It's a crappy response, I know, but it's how i get around the problem.

I don't know if this helps, but I have found a free program that forces the GPRS disconnect at a predetermined time (set by you), and allows you to click on the Today Screen icon and select "Disconnect". I have had the problems you describe and the issue was GPRS wasn't disconnecting automatically.

If you or anyone else would like the program, it is at http://www.GB-Soft.cz

The latest version is 19.12.2005 WM5

I hope this helps someone.

Cheers

Jeffrey

This sounds useful, but the whole site is in a language i can't read. (russian, czech, ??? - I don't know, i can't read it.) I don't see anything there to guide me to the right software, do you have a name for this sofware so i can at least figure out which link to check for it?
