MDA Just Died

My Tmobile MDA just crapped out today. The battery died last night before I could get home to charge it. When I got home I plugged it in and went to bed, woke up this morning and nothing. It wont turn on. I'm going to a Tmobile store now to see if they can fix the problem. I think the issue was that I didn't realize that it was dead so I picked it up to make a call and pressed the power button to unlock it which had the adverse affect of powering it up on a dead battery. It wouldn't power up and got stuck on the "Windows Mobile 5" splash screen and didn't finish booting.

When you "plugged it in", did you use the USB cable or the charger? If you used the USB cable, you could try charging it with the charger. The charger has more power, and might be able to revive the battery when charging with the USB cable doesn't work anymore.

I tried both and with different wall sockets and two different wall plugs ( I have the euro plug also) neither worked. It's frustrating because I have a ton of work to do today.

Mine just did the same thing today. It locked up right before I was going to sleep last night, so I reset it before plugging it in. When I came back this morning, it was dead. Once, when I hit the switch this morning, it started to boot up but shut off again while it was on the T-Mobile boot screen. Since then, nothing.

not sure why but when I went to tmobile they looked at it, took the battery out (which I did) looked inside, but the battery back (which I did), plugged it into the wall and it began charging. Don't know why it worked when she did it and it didn't work when I did it but whatever got it working is fine.

Not sure this will help other readers but I have a Nokia 6620 that also has the same problem (more than 10 times). I've learned if I take the battery out (sometimes 2 or 3 times) and put it back in and put it in the charging base. It comes back to life. Annoying, you bet but at least it's not DOA.

Thanks for your advise. My MDA just died after 3 weeks. No power. I charge it 1-2 times a day while hooked up via USB on the computer. I check battery power daily on my today page with SPB plug-in. Yesterday the MDA just died and would not turn on (while attached via USB!). T-Mobile store tried another battery but did not work either.

Today plugged in the AC charger and instantly began charging. Rec'd using AC charger at least once a week if you typically depend on USB charging.

Before reading the thread, I was on Batteries Plus looking for a replacement. I was trying to use USB, and even plugged in USB to my iPhone adaptor, tried cigarette lighter charger in the car....nothin'.

After reading the thread, I spent about an hour looking for my dad gummed charger (which I assumed was forever lost). I found it. I plugged it in, it blinked once red, then gave me a solid orange glow. YAY. God. Now I can go to sleep. (Well, after I check my email...)

Yeah, forgot to mention the whole reason I was trying to charge my old Wiza 200 was because my iPhone was stolen. I kind of like the old Wiza better anyway.
