K-Jam Help ! K-jam powers down when anything is connected to usb connector (power cable or usb cable)

Help ! I had left my k-jam powered down for a 2 weeks as I was on holiday. When I started it back up it seems to have reset itself. If i connect the the power cable or usb data cable it seems to switch off. The phone still works fine providing I dont connect anything to the USB connector

I was thinking of upgrading the firmware but everytime I connect the usb cable it powers down. Help !
