T-Mobile will be launching UMA services soon and I was curious if anybody knows if there is software coming that will allow the MDA to utilize the UMA technology to use WI-FI for voice calls. I know about SKYP but this is different.

The technology allows the phone to hand off from GSM servcie to UMA without dropping the call and minutes are still used as if you are on a regular tower. From what I can find, the ability to use the UMA for this purpose is just software so maybe a ROM update. Anybody know anything about this subject.

I hope this made sense.

I do know what you mean and that did make sense. I just bought a Nokia smart phone that uses wife for internet calling but does not have UMA. I think the demand is high for people like us who spent a lot of money on our phones and want to use UMA. It seems like it would just be software in the phone. Let me know if you find out, i am still searching.
